This is the view from my hotel to the river along Nanning, capital of Guangxi Province. I have visited here a number of times, it always greets me with RAIN.

There are some things that really catch you attention. Look how this building is being manually torn town.

No trip is complete for me if I do not study and visit all places of worship that the world has. This is a specific Thai Buddist temple outside Nanning. If you know anything about China history, you know that Mao tried to eliminate all religion in the country during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960's and 70's. I would say he failed, people by nature are "religious" by nature, and bounced back quickly after his death.

Like most places of worship, the symbolism is great and always specific. Look closely at these statues and what the face, hands, position is of everything.
